1006 Kentwood Drive, Blacksburg
Trent Davis
The owner has over the past five years developed 3000 square feet into a fascinating and non-traditional (for Virginia) Southwest-influenced garden which makes special use of gravel for drainage and artfully arranged rock and concrete. Featuring about 150 varieties of cacti and other succulents, the garden is home to prickly pear and yucca, only some of which are native to Virginia. Many varieties of agaves, barrel cacti, and cholla cacti are interspersed with sedum, while large banana trees add height and a different kind of interest.
